YogiTree@The Garden

Who say guys dont go to afternoon tea?....Ok, sound diva....or sissy....but that is what I get from those aunty, chicks and little gal when me and another friend of mine who sit down at YogiTree at The Garden for high tea session.

We bought a groupon ticket for an afternoon tea for 2. It was cheap and healthy set I would say minus off all the weird looking stare from those gals especially 2 young chick pretending to be diva (u know what I mean....speaking with american accent and act cute on same time want maintain standard)

Anyway, this is what we get...

Tea for 2
A piece of cake (we choose pineapple upside down cake)
2 scones
Bruschetta - Pesto chicken bruschetta and grilled vegetable caramelized onion bruschetta. (OK, the one with alfalfa is just not for me...)
Scones (Omg, so sweet)

Verdict : Healthy and nice....The pineapple upside down cake is really good. The Bruschetta is nice too (minus off the alfalfa)....For scones I would say it is nice to eat while it was warm while the macaroon is way to sweet for my liking....

Anyway, somehow another, yogitree remind me of yogibear....Dont you think so? hehe

Fong Lye Taiwan Restaurant (The Gardens)

I made it a point to try the food in this restaurant coz it seems so darn good, whereby long queues of customers are willing to wait outside of the restaurant before they can obtain a table...(they are also served with green tea while waiting)

The immediate feel was that im actually in Taiwan coz their waiter and waitresses doesnt look like locals...the guys look like taiwanese from the mountains (traits like superstar taiwanese singer A-Mei)

The menu includes rice sets, mini steamboat, and other typical taiwanese dishes..(the fried sweet potato ball are quite popular).
The prices are not exhorbitant considering that it is located in one of the most exclusive malls in Malaysia.

However, there seem to be limited space and my table is placed too near to another customer's table(around feet), creating an uncomfortable and no privacy to chat while waiting for food to arrive..

This is not the typical ice kacang(ABC)- includes sweet potato, yam, green + red bean, and ice cream
But does not justify its price(very expensive for just a normal dessert)

This set comes with rice set and claypot chicken cooked with a type of very fragrant leaves...
The rice, topped with pork gives a very nice fragrant and taste to the bowl of rice(cant help but to finish it)...

This set comes with fresh fish fillet cooked in tomato+eggs (the eggs tasted very tangy and fresh)

Pros: Nice ambiance, good taste, good service

Cons: Tables too close, waiting time for food too long

Result: 7/10

Purple Cane Tea, The Garden

This is a brief posting of a dinner we have long long time ago during Strawberry Bing and my birthday....

We have a simple dinner at purple cane tea...Yup, don't get a shock, we have dinner at place famous for TEA...

We were serve with nice pot of tea and we order some dishes whereby all these dishes is cook with tea leave and no MSG...Is healthy food by the way...

We have Peking Duck, Fish Fillet claypot, Braised Beancurd, Loh Han Chai and Salted Egg Prawn....
The Peking Duck is nice, juicy and the sauce is excellent
The fish fillet is quite bland maybe due to its 'healty' dishes
Braised Beancurd with Tea sauce was not bad...The aroma of the tea had absorb into the smooth tofu...

Loh Han Chai is Ok but again the tea leave is the flavour enhancer
Salted Egg Prawn is quite nice and the prawn is fresh...

About the price, frankly speaking is kinda pricy but thank to Zhe Quan, we have no worries about the price...Basically I dun even saw the receipt so I dun really know the price....

But we have great dinner there...

Service: 4 stars
Food: 4 stars
Ambience: 4 stars
Price: 5 stars....pricy le...
Overall: 4 stars...
Oh by the way it is Porky Free....mean Halal la...
