New Paris

Probably I am the last to blog about New Paris Restaurant….I believe this restaurant do not need any more introduction from me as it was very famous for its Chinese dishes.

A week ago, in conjunction with the homecoming of Mr Mighty Kan, we (Ken Yap, Nicholas, George Tan, Benedict Cho, Ker Shien and me of course) have a dinner at New Paris Restaurant. Noted that the restaurant will be fully booked at dinner time, I called the restaurant and make a reservation.

We order 5 dishes.
The famous Champagne Chicken serve with mouth watering water melon.

Sweet and Sour Steam Fish

Steam Lala in rice wine soup

Signature Tofu (not manage to snap a photo as everyone grabbing their share within second)

And some green vege to lighten the night…

Overall, I would say it was really a good dinner and the rice wine really making me drunky….wahhaa…just joking…

Daorae, NZX

Everyone had been talking about Nui Zhe Xui for its open concept and I had never had chance to visit the place till few weeks go...

It was RARE occasion that Zhe Quan asked us out for dinner and thought it was Sunday night, we have no option but to give him so faces....Yeah, how can we turn down his invitation as it will never come once in trillion years...Gosh...

Ok...so we settle down after hours of exploring NZX which have totally nothing except the FULLHOUSE, STARBUCK and BIG APPLE DONUT....

Firstly we wanted to go for 100'C but as the queue is longer than the dragon, we opt for Korean Food instead. The shop is at second floor of first shop lot near Big Apple Donut.

Daorae, Korean BBQ shop.....Sound like Doraemon though....Initially we suppose to call barbecue set but as majority of them had not yet arrive and we are starving to death, we have no option but to call single set to dine first while waiting for the late comers....Is common for auditor to be late ya...

Basically all the set we call is almost the same thing but taste different...As it was a surprise gathering, I didn't bring my camera so I just took some photo using my handphone and the result was barely OK....haiz...

We end up calling the Korean sauce noodles, pork rib soup with rice, chicken with tofu served with rice, Korean pancake, cold noodles, and lotsa more....We also satisfied our palate with Korean Barbecue slide pork and free refillable 10 side dishes....

Purple Cane Tea, The Garden

This is a brief posting of a dinner we have long long time ago during Strawberry Bing and my birthday....

We have a simple dinner at purple cane tea...Yup, don't get a shock, we have dinner at place famous for TEA...

We were serve with nice pot of tea and we order some dishes whereby all these dishes is cook with tea leave and no MSG...Is healthy food by the way...

We have Peking Duck, Fish Fillet claypot, Braised Beancurd, Loh Han Chai and Salted Egg Prawn....
The Peking Duck is nice, juicy and the sauce is excellent
The fish fillet is quite bland maybe due to its 'healty' dishes
Braised Beancurd with Tea sauce was not bad...The aroma of the tea had absorb into the smooth tofu...

Loh Han Chai is Ok but again the tea leave is the flavour enhancer
Salted Egg Prawn is quite nice and the prawn is fresh...

About the price, frankly speaking is kinda pricy but thank to Zhe Quan, we have no worries about the price...Basically I dun even saw the receipt so I dun really know the price....

But we have great dinner there...

Service: 4 stars
Food: 4 stars
Ambience: 4 stars
Price: 5 stars....pricy le...
Overall: 4 stars...
Oh by the way it is Porky Free....mean Halal la...

Vietnamese Cuisine

Hohohoho.. This is the first time I contribution the food section in this blogspot.. NOW, I would like to introduce this restaurant to you all, CoDo upstair of Little Vietnam...(Same management but serve different menu)

This restaurant is located at the top floor of Megamall Mid Vallay. Is beside the Korea Food Restaurant, opposite the GSC Cinema.

The interior design for this restaurant is quite elegant. Bottom seat is like sitting outside the mamak stall, while upstair like clasiccal style of Vietnamese restaurant (we also can look at the chefs whether they are lazy on cooking or not as well).

Look at their menu will makes us feel more hungry than ever.

Since we are two person in the restaurant, I can represent you all the set dinner (2pax) only.

Firstly, the appetizer, DRAGONFRUIT SALAD, combination of dragonfruit, minched peanut and vietnamese sour sauce. This will makes you has more appetizer before you start your meal courses.
CHICKEN BALL SOUP HU TIEU, feels like having "Ipoh Chicken Noodles" while drinking the soup. However, the chicken balls feel like an non-ordinary chicken ball where we can buy in the supermarket. The HU TIEU (noodle) is smooth and is easy to suck directly into your mouth.
LOTUS ROOT PANCAKE, the aroma of this pancake is nice and tasty to eat (surely is nicer than the carrot cake). You can dunk it into the sour sauce to make the pancake juicier and tasty.
VIETNAMESE SPRING ROLL, recommanded to eat it with the vegetable, so that you feel more variety of food inside your mouth (the spring roll is tooooooooo little for two person meal).
TOMATO FRIED RICE, feel like eating the dried srimp fried rice with some chinese meat becon. Don't taste like any tomato at all.
Finally, you will enjoy a cup of drink for each person (ice lime juice, ice lemon tea or soya bean).
The total of this set (including 5% tax, no services tax) is RM 38.50 only. This set is good for the light meal person. Those who can eat a lot, you can eat this set by your own.

BBQ Chicken

Hi....Is new year and it is 2009...

Sorry for such a delay due to some administration problem and busy time I have during this few month....However, we all here in HarKauSiewMai.blogspot.com are very committed in our food search and unity by food as what we always said....So here we come...A new year, a new brand start and we will keep you all posted with nice food...

This new year eve, I just wanted to avoid the 'human' jam in countdown area so I decided to ring my friend out to have some nice and relaxing dinner at Jaya One. Jaya One is a nice place to hangout with friends with different street theme and restaurant. There is Wai Sek Kai and Palm Square filled up with 32 restaurants and cafe to choose from...

After half an hour of cruising around Jaya One finally we stop at BBQ Chicken as most of the restaurant are either too crowded or too costly...Hehe...

BBQ Chicken is a korean fast food restuarant specialize for chicken...Friendly speaking I don't think that it is a fast food restaurant as we waited quite a while before the food is served...

I ordered the Korean Charboiled Chicken and Liang Bing ordered the Jerk Chicken....The name is quite funny and Liang Bing is making fun with it name that one point of time he called guy who eat the Jerk Chicken as a "Jerk"....It was so malu you know having this big baby making fun in the restaurant...But we know him...because he is simply a big baby anyway....

This is how Jerk BBQ look alike in the menu

and this is the real portion (after Liang Bing swallow in some fries of course.....Will you spent RM 14.90 for this?

For my portion, the Korean Charboiled Chicken look like this in the menu

and the real portion look much better....It cost only RM 14.90

We also called the Teri-Q fried chicken which was suppose to be friend chicken with teriyaki sause...

This food really kick the ass away KFC....It taste way better than KFC original recepi....

This satay thingy is called....erm...I forgot dy....hehe...Friendly speaking I am not good in remembering the order especially if the food not ordered by me....But this thing is damm good.

Korean Tea

After a long day, we was entertained by song performance at the palm square and it was fortunate to see some UTARian I known at the stage performing....Seem like their band is going famous nowadays!!!

Anyway you might be thinking what the hack is BBQ chicken selling fried chicken...It so not 'BBQ' as the name stated right?? OK....BBQ chicken does not mean barbeque but on it means 'Best of the best quality'.....

Thought it was quite new but there is already few outlet here in Malaysia...try it out if you got time...
